The foundation of Bodegas Corral, the home place of Don Jacobo, over a hundred years ago was due to the foresight of Saturnino Daroca, a born and bred Riojan grower and winemaker, who started planting his first vineyards in Sojuela, a small village near Navarrete. The vineyards of Bodegas Corral form an important part of their operations, enabling them to control the proportions of different grape varieties and to guarantee the correct treatment and cultivation of the vines, maintaining their own high standards.
Montespina arises from part of the more than 600 hectares of vineyards that we control; 90 hectares of them are old vineyards, some of them almost a hundred years old, located mainly in the area of Segovia. The age of the vines means that their grapes give the wines a great complexity of aromas and good structure.
